Drive Power
The drive voltage backplane sensors (+5.1 VDC and +12.1 VDC) can detect a
drive overcurrent condition. When a drive overcurrent condition exists, the sensor
disconnects the voltage from the drive to prevent writing data to the drive. The
drive is disabled until one of the following conditions occurs:
The defective drive is replaced.
The overcurrent condition no longer exists.
Drive Blank
To maintain the proper enclosure air flow, you must have a drive or a drive blank
in each drive bay. The function of the drive blanks is to control air flow within a
bay. See Figure 38.

Replacing a Disk Drive or Drive Blank
To replace a disk, you must complete the procedures outlined in “Customer
Replaceable Units” on page 195.
The disk replacement kit contains detailed replacement instructions.
