those specified herein.
• Allow only HP authorized service technicians to repair the laser device.
Compliance with CDRH regulations
The Center for D evices and Radiological Health (CDRH) of the U.S. Food and Drug Adm inistration
implemented regulations for laser p roducts on August 2, 1976. These regulations apply to laser products
manufactured from August 1, 1976. Compliance is mandator y for products marketed in the U nited States.
Certification and classification information
This product contains a laser internal to the Optical Link Module (OLM) for connection to the Fibre
communications port.
In the USA, the OLM is certified as a Class 1 laser product conforming to the requirements conta ined in
the Departm ent of H e alth a nd Human Services (DHHS) regulation 21 CFR, Subchapter J. The c ertification
is indicated by a label on the plastic OLM housing.
Outside the USA, the OLM is certified as a Class 1 laser product conforming to the requirements
contained in IEC 825-1:1993 and EN 60825-1:1994, including Amendment 11:1996.
