1. The default display a lternates between the Storage System N ame display and the World Wide
Name display.
Press any push button to display the Storage System Menu Tree.

Shutting down the system
CAUTION:
To power off th
esystemformorethan96hours,useHPCommandViewEVA.
You can use the Shutdown System function to implement the shutdown method s listed below. These
shutdown methods are explained in Table 26.
• Shutting down the controller (see Shutting the controller down).
• Restarting the system (see Restarting the System).
• Uninitializing the system (see Uninitializing the System).
To ensure that you do not mistakenly activate a shutdown p rocedure, the default state is always N O,
indicating do not implement this procedure. A s a safeguard, implementing any shutdown m ethod
requires you to complete at least two actions.

Shutting the controller down
Use the following procedure to access the Shutdown System display and execute a shutdown procedure.
NOTE:
HP Command View EVA is the preferr ed method for shutting down the controller. Shut down the
controller from the OCP only if HP Command View EVA cannot communicate with the controller.
Shutting down the controller from the OCP removes power from the controller on which the procedure is
performed only. To restore power, toggle the controller’s power switch.
CAUTION:
If you decide NOT to power off while working in the Power Off menu,
Power Off System NO must be
displayed b efore you press Esc. This reduces the risk of accidentally powering down.
