Resolving a low battery level when no power source is available
Save your work and shut down the computer.
Resolving a low battery level when the computer cannot exit Hibernation
When the battery level is low and you cannot bring the computer out of Hibernation, connect the AC adapter.
1. Connect the AC adapter to the computer and to external power.
2. Exit Hibernation by pressing the power button.
User-replaceable battery
Be sure to follow proper instructions when you remove, store, or dispose of a user-replaceable battery.
WARNING! To reduce potential safety issues, use only the user-replaceable battery provided with the
computer, a replacement battery provided by HP, or a compatible battery purchased from HP.
IMPORTANT: Removing a user-replaceable battery that is the sole power source for the computer can cause
loss of information. To prevent loss of information, save your work or shut down the computer through
Windows before removing the battery.
Removing a user-replaceable battery
To remove the user-replaceable battery, use this procedure and illustration.
1. Position the computer upside down on a at surface with the service door facing you.
2. Slide the service door release latch (1), and then remove the security screw (2) .
3. Slide the service door release latch all the way (3) to release the service door.
4. Remove the service door (4).
NOTE: The service door release latch automatically returns to its original position.
