Generating logs
Messages generated by the VAAI Plug-in are placed in the VMware kernel log.
• ESX : /var/log/vmkernel
• ESXi: /var/log/messages
If a run time warning condition occurs, the VAAI plug-in includes an IMPACT and/or ACTION
statement to clarify the severity of the event.
Available command line switches
The VAAI plug-in accommodates a number of logging use cases via command line switches. The
VAAI plug-in self-documents the usage of these switches via the following command:
vmkload_mod -s hp-vaaip-p2000
vmkload_mod module information

Possible log messages

are multiple possibilities of that Log ID to occur.
NOTE:
• Some values in the table are tokenized. For explanations, see the Token legend following the
table.
• Conditional values are placed in angle brackets < >.
• Log Level is the level user must use to enable logging. A value of zero means logging always
enabled.
