Installation procedures

Perform these actions to install and co n ﬁgure the disk array:

1. Install and conﬁgure the disk array

System Option Mode

• Conﬁguring the Fibre Channel ports

2. Install and conﬁgure the host

• Loading the OS a nd software

• Installi

• Fabric zoning and LUN security

3. Connect the disk arr a y

• Verifying the host recognizes array devices

4. Conﬁgure disk devices

• Writing signatures

• Creati

ng and formatting disk partitions

• Verifying ﬁle system operations

Install and conﬁgure the disk array

The HP service representative performs these tasks:

• Assembling hardware and installing software

• Loading the microcode updates

• Installing and formatting devices

After these tasks are ﬁnished, use Command View (XP arrays only), Remote Web Console, Command

View XP Advanced Edition, or LUN Conﬁguration and Security Manager to complete the remaining

tasks listed below. If you do not have these pro grams, your HP service representative can perform

these tasks for you.
