19) Disconnect F/S connector from CB K5 (black) connector.
20) Check for continuity across F/S leads. With the water tank full, F/S should be closed. If
F/S is closed and the icemaker will not switch from the 1-minute ll cycle to the initial
harvest cycle, replace CB.
21) If open, conrm that the water tank is full. If the water tank is not full, check the water
supply, water lters, and inlet water valve. If the water tank is full, follow the steps in
"IV.D.2.FloatSwitchCleaning."AftercleaningF/S,checkitagain.Replaceifnecessary.

2. Float Switch Cleaning
Depending on local water conditions, scale may build up on F/S. Scale can cause F/S to
stick. In this case, F/S should be cleaned.
1) If not already off, turn off the power supply.
2) Remove the front, top, and left side panels, then remove the insulation panel. Move the
controlswitchtothe"OFF"position.
3) Disconnect the distributor from the distribution hose. Remove the thumbscrew securing
cube guide B. Remove cube guide B and cube guide A. See Fig. 4.
4) Remove the overow cap and overow pipe.
5) Remove the drain plug. Allow the water tank to drain, then replace the drain plug in its
correct position. Be careful not to cross thread it.
6) Replace the overow pipe, overow cap, cube guide A, and cube guide B in their correct
positions. Be careful not to cross thread the overow pipe.
7) Reconnect the distributor to the distribution hose.
8) Disconnect the vent tube and the ush tube from the top of F/S, then remove F/S
assembly from the mounting bracket and remove the rubber boot from the bottom of
F/S assembly. See Fig. 5.
9) Remove the retainer rod from the bottom
of F/S assembly, then remove the oat.
Be careful not to bend the retainer rod
excessively when removing it.
10) Wipe down F/S assembly's housing, shaft,
oat, and retainer rod with a mixture of 1
partHoshizaki"ScaleAway"and25parts
warm water. Clean the inside of the rubber
boot and hose with cleaning solution. Rinse
the parts thoroughly with clean water.
11) Reassemble F/S assembly and replace
it and the rubber boot in their correct
positions. Reconnect the vent tube and the
ush tube.
12)Movethecontrolswitchtothe"ICE"position.
