1. To access vehicle taillight wiring harness, raise and remove the carpeted spare tire compartment
cover.
2. Remove foam center panel.
3. Remove foam tray and jack assembly from spare tire well.
4. Unscrew and remove tire thumbscrew and remove spare tire.
5. Remove carpeted left hand side panel.
6. Remove (2) push pin fasteners from left hand side foam tray and remove foam tray.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for right hand side of vehicle.
8. Remove the left hand tire well rubber plug (access hole for routing 4-way flat).
9. Route the 4-way flat connecter end of the wiring harness assembly into the hole in the spare tire
compartment.
10. Inside the vehicle, secure the converter module block in a convenient location.
11. Route converter wiring over the left hand frame and down the left side of the frame rail placing the 8
pin connecter towards the back seat.
12. Locate the vehicle body harness, which is tucked under the left side wall of the vehicle.
13. Connect the end of the vehicle harness to the 8 pin connecter on the Hopkins
®
wiring harness.
14. In reverse order, reinstall the spare tire and floor panels using steps 1 through 7.
15. Secure the 4-way flat connector end of harness to an area near the receiver hitch with ny-ties
provided in the accessory bag for easy access to plug into the 4-way flat trailer connector.
16. Attach the 4-way flat dust cover provided in the accessory bag to the 4-way flat connector.
17. Apply a small amount of grease also provided in the accessory bag to the 4-way flat terminals to
prevent corrosion.
18. Plug completed wire harness into the trailer 4-way flat connector.
19. Test all functions with the engine running to ensure proper operation.
TIPS:
Grease applied to the wiring terminals on a regular basis will help prevent corrosion.
Always unplug boat trailer connector before backing trailer into the water.
