S8600 Family Ignition Module Tester

CAUTION
ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
Hold probe only at insulation. Do not touch
metal probe end while it contacts Q345.
5. Touch flame simulator probe to Q345 Igniter
spark rod (single rod systems), or to Q354A Flame
Sensor rod (two rod systems) to complete flame circuit.
Spark stops and main valve light comes on.
6. Remove probe. Pilot and main lights go off. Spark
and pilot valve light resume after a short (1-4 second)
delay.
7. Open thermostat switch. Spark and pilot light go
off.
8. Open power switch and remove S8600.

How to Use Tester
1. Turn off power.
2. Connect S8600.
NOTE: On S8600 models with vent damper plug:
— If module has not been used with a vent
damper, leave plug in place.
— If module has been used with a vent damper,
connect operational vent damper using plug
receptacle before testing.
3. Close power switch. Power light comes on.
4. Close thermostat switch. Igniter sparks, pilot valve
light comes on.
NOTE: If vent damper is connected, ignition spark will
be delayed for several seconds while the vent damper
cycles to the open position.
