Troubleshooting
WARNING: Electrocution Hazard.
Failure to follow this warning could result in personal injury or death.
The following procedures will expose electrical components. Before servicing, always turn off main power
to system. There may be more than one disconnect switch.
CAUTION: Personal Injury Hazard.
Failure to follow this caution may result in personal injury.
The following instructions are for use by qualied personnel only.
The Honeywell Enhanced Air Cleaner is equipped with a power indicator light located on the door (see Fig.
17 on page 19). This power indicator light illuminates when the Honeywell Enhanced Air Cleaner door is
installed, the power switch is in the on position, AND the air handler blower or furnace blower is running
and (for 1620, 2020, and 2520) airow is sensed. If the power indicator light is not illuminated, follow the
troubleshooting steps below.
Check that the Honeywell Enhanced Air Cleaner door is installed.1.
A magnet in the door (see Fig. 16 on page 19) is used to activate a safety switch in the power NOTE:
supply when the door is installed. The power supply will not energize the air cleaner unless the
safety switch is activated.
Check that the Honeywell Enhanced Air Cleaner power switch is in the ON position.2.
Conrm that the heating and cooling system blower is operating.3.
Conrm that power is provided. 4.
Models 1620/2020/2520: 208 to 230 VAC.
Models 1625/2025: 120 VAC.
Models 1620/2020/2520 ONLY: 5. Conrm that the airow sensor cable is connected to the power supply
(see Fig. 11 on page 15).
Even though power is supplied to the Honeywell Enhanced Air Cleaner, it will not turn on unless NOTE:
the airow sensor senses airow or the airow sensor’s bypass plug is inserted.
If still not functioning, disconnect the airow sensor cable and the power cord from the power a.
supply.
Remove the enhancement module from the Honeywell Enhanced Air Cleaner cabinet and inspect b.
the airow switch (see Fig. 14 on page 16).
Conrm the airow switch is properly seated in its bracket and the airow switch cable is c.
connected to the back of the switch. Replace the enhancement module.
Reconnect the power cord to the power supply and temporarily insert the airow sensor disable d.
jumper (from parts bag).
If the power indicator light illuminates, then replace the airow sensor. e.
