SAFETY INFORMATION Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate, or install the product. • Before you begin installing the fan, disconnect the power by removing fuses or turning off the circuit breakers. • Make sure that all electrical connections comply with local codes, ordinances, the National Electrical Code, and ANSI/NFPA 70-199. Hire a qualified electrician or consult a do-it-yourself wiring handbook if you are unfamiliar with installing electrical wiring.
MOUNTING OPTIONS ! DANGER Fig. 1 ! Turn off the circuit breakers and the wall switch to the fan supply line leads. Failure to disconnect the power supply prior to installation may result in serious injury or death. 1. Your fan has 3 mounting options: • Standard (Fig. 1) • Angled (Fig. 2) • Closemount (Fig. 3) Note: The fans in figures 1 through 3 are not the actual fan in your package, they are representation of the 3 different mounting options. MOUNTING BRACKET INSTALLATION 4. Loosen all mounting bracket screws. Remove the two mounting bracket screws and washers from the round holes of canopy. Set aside for later use. Secure the mounting bracket to the outlet box using screws, spring washers, and flat washers provided with the outlet box (not included) (Fig. 5). Fig.

Thread the wires from the motor assembly through the yoke cover, canopy, and out the top of the downrod (Fig. 8). Fig.
STANDARD OR ANGLE MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS 9. Slide the downrod into the yoke of the motor housing, align the holes, and reinstall the downrod pin and downrod clip. Then retighten the set screws (Fig. 9). Fig. 9 Downrod Downrod Pin Set Screw 10. Depending on the length of downrod you use, you may need to cut the lead wires back to simplify the wiring.
STANDARD OR ANGLE MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS 12. Install the ball end of the downrod into the mounting bracket opening. Align the slot in the ball with the tab in the mounting bracket. The rod should not rotate if installed correctly (Fig. 12). Fig.
CLOSEMOUNT INSTRUCTIONS 13. Remove the canopy cover from the bottom of the canopy (Fig. 13). Align the canopy with the closemount screw holes in the top of the motor assembly. Secure the canopy to the top of the motor housing by installing three closemount screws and spring washers into the top of the motor housing (Fig. 14). Closemount Screw Fig.

CANOPY INSTALLATION 18. Lift the canopy up so the partially installed mounting bracket screws are situated in the L-slots on each side of the canopy. Rotate the canopy clockwise and install the remaining mounting bracket screws and washers from Step 4 (Fig. 18). Mounting Bracket Screw Fig.
BLADE INSTALLATION 19. Remove motor screws from underside of the motor and save for blade arm attachment. Discard the plastic motor blocks but keep the motor screws (Fig. 19). Align each twist lock connector in the direction of its corresponding hole in the blade. Place the blade over the twist lock connectors.
LIGHT KIT INSTALLATION 22. (Optional) To install the fan without a light kit: Fig. 22 Unscrew the hex nut located inside the switch housing cap from the threaded rod in the center of the cap to remove the light kit and wiring (Fig. 22). Switch Housing Cap Light Kit 23. Remove the screws and washers from the upper switch housing. Align holes in switch housing cap with holes in upper switch housing. Re-insert screws and washers that were previously removed.
LIGHT KIT INSTALLATION 25. Align holes in the switch housing cap with holes in upper switch housing. Re-insert screws and washers that were previously removed. LIGHT KIT INSTALLATION 28. Feed pull chain through the center hole in the glass globe, rubber washer and nut. Lift the glass globe and rubber washer over the threaded rod. Screw the nut onto the threaded rod to temporarily hold the glass globe in place. Feed the pull chains through both holes in the finial cap and the center hole in the finial and lift the finial cap up until it is flush with the glass globe. Screw the finial onto the threaded rod to hole the light kit in place. (Fig. 28). Fig.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 30. Use the fan reverse switch, located on the side of the light kit, to optimize your fan for seasonal performance (Fig. 30). Fig. 30 Using a ceiling fan will allow you to raise your thermostat in the summer and lower your thermostat in the winter without sacrificing comfort. Important: Wait for the fan to stop before moving the reverse switch. The reverse switch must be set either completely left or right in order for the fan to function correctly.

TROUBLESHOOTING At least twice each year, lower the canopy to check the downrod assembly, and then tighten all screws on the fan. Clean the motor housing with only a soft brush or lint-free cloth to avoid scratching the finish. Clean the blades with a lint-free cloth. You may occasionally apply a light coat of furniture polish to wood blades for added protection. Important: Shut off the main power supply before you begin any maintenance tasks. Do not use water or a damp cloth to clean the ceiling fan.
