Refer to Safety Precautions on page 142.
Check that the stern is lower than the bow.
1. Pull the reverse lever to lower the reverse
bucket (page 50).
2. Attach a garden hose (1) to the flushing
connector (2), but do not turn on the water.
(If your hose has a male-threaded end,
attach a commercially-available female
hose adapter (3), or use a section about two
feet long cut from the female-threaded end
of a second hose.)

Flushing Procedure
When running the engine on land,
hot water and steam can spurt from
the cooling water bypass outlet and
the exhaust outlet and may cause
burns to people in the area.
Keep people away from the rear of
the personal watercraft when the
engine is running.
