IMPORTANT: (For shipping purposes we have adjusted
the spring to the highest tention level) To effectively stop
squirrels, adjust the spring to a 'lower tension'.
By lowering the tension spring, the perch will close off
the seed bin when squirrels or large birds sit on it. This
spring can be adjusted to different settings if you desire.
HOW TO ADJUST SPRING TENSIONS (Figure 1):
Place the Spring (K) into desired slot. Upper slots are
less tension for feeding smaller birds, lower slots are
more tension for feeding larger birds.
BIRD FEEDING TIPS
Be patient when introducing a new feeder. It
may take some time for the birds to discover it. We
suggest that you sprinkle wild bird feed on the perch
and below the feeder to help attract the birds. Several
factors can affect birds feeding habits such as various
times of the year or time of day, the temperature and
weather. In mild climates when there are plenty of
natural food available, birds will visit a feeder less.
When they feel pressured to find food during
snowstorms or before a thunderstorm, you will
notice increased visits to the feeder. Beware of
some seed mixes that include wheat, oats, flax-
seed and other ingredients that birds don't prefer.

3 WAYS TO MOUNT
1. Hang (Figure 2)
Place Roof Support Bracket (F) in grooves of hanger (D)
and slide two Machine Screws (H) through the top set of
holes in roof (A). Secure screws tightly with two nuts (J)
by holding nut with a wrench and tightening screw with
screwdriver. Hang where desired.
2. Wall, Wooden Post, or Tree Mount (Figure

Position Roof (A) on the surface you wish to mount it on
(in this illustration, we use a post). Mark the location of
the middle set of holes onto the post. If wood is hard,
predrill holes. Mount Roof (A) with two #8 x 1-1/2" Wood
Screws (G) through middle set of holes in the roof,
through the Small Support Bracket (F), and into post.
3. Pole Mount (Figure 4)
Mount on 7/8" to 1-1/4" diameter pole…pole not in-
cluded.
n Position pole in desired location. Make sure pole is
perpendicular to ground and not leaning backwards.
n Insert two #10 x 1-1/4" Machine Screws (H) through
middle set of holes in back of Roof (A) and through
Small Support Bracket (F). Position feeder on pole at
desired height.
n Place V-shaped Mounting Bracket € on the other side
of pole and secure with Hex Nuts (J).
FOR FAST EASY FILLING (Figure 5)
Removable Seed Bin (B) lifts up and out from
under roof (A).
