Rafter Assembly

Step 54: First assemble two end rafters by fastening one rafter gus-

set to rafters using twelve 2” nails as shown.

Step 53: Layout two rafters and

align as shown.

Incorrect, birds mouth should

be at bottom end of rafter.

Note: There are four rafters

withouth birds mouth cutouts,

these rafters will be used for

the gable overhangs.

Incorrect, rafter splice should

fit tightly together.

Step 55: Assemble remaining

five rafters by fastening a rafter

gusset to both sides of rafters.
