Sidewall Siding Installation

Step 41: Make a mark at both ends of wall even with bottom of sid-

ing on front and back walls and snap a line. Hammer 4 nails spaced

approximately two feet apart on line. Do not hammer nails all the

way in, keep out 3/4”.

Step 42: Layout one 4’x85”siding

sheets and one 44”x85” sheet as

shown.

Step 43: Rest 4’x85” sheet of sid-

ing on top of nails (see step 41)

and align with top of top plates

and with edge of wall and fasten

in top right corner. Siding splice

should fall on the center of wall

stud.

Step 44: Make sure siding aligns properly at edge of wall and with

top of wall plates. Nail siding into wall every 8” using 2-1/4” galva-

nized nails.

Step 45: Make sure siding aligns

on center of wall stud and fasten.

Note: If siding piece is not cen-

tered, adjust wall stud accord-

ingly.

Step 46: Install remaining siding

piece repeating previous steps.

If needed, cut last siding piece

flush with edge of wall.

Step 47: Repeat steps on oppo-

site wall, starting with 4’x85”

sheet with overlap towards front

of wall.
