3 Function and device overview
The Homematic IP Passage Sensor is mounted in the
door frame and reliably detects persons passing the
corresponding door. Two infra-red sensors recognise the
direction and register, if someone is leaving or entering
the room. In addition, the passage sensor records the
number of persons that have entered or left the room.
Based on this features, the device can be used in
connection with other Homematic IP components and
is therefore e.g. ideal for controlling light or security
functions.
Thanks to the radio communication and battery operation,
the passage sensor is highly flexible where mounting and
selecting a mounting location are concerned. With its
compact design and a detection range of up to 4.5m
as well as a detection angle of 66° the passage sensor
is optimised for installation in door frames. The device is
easy to mount thanks to the supplied adhesive strips or
screws and plugs.
With the integrated tamper contact you are immediately
informed via the app about any unauthorised removal or
manipulation of the passage sensor.
