INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
A. Locate Bumper Plate Assemblies (8 & 9).
Bumper Plates should have a 1”overhang from
the bumper. The Driver side or the pivot side
will have a three piece system that will act as
the hinge for the spreader. Attach Pivot Weld
(3), Post (4) and Bushing (5) to the Bumper
Plate (8) using the post as a centering guide.
The right side will have a two-piece system that
will be the latching side. Attach Post (4) to
Bumper Plate (9). Line up with the Rail Plates
(1 & 2). Be sure that the tailgate will open before
locating any of these brackets permanently.
Make sure bumper brackets are parallel to the
lower main frame so that everything will be
straight. After aligning all pieces, mark & drill
(8) 7/16” holes using the bumper plates as a
guide. Once holes have been drilled, bolt
securely to bumper using Bolt C 3/8-16 x 1-1/2
(12), 3/8 Lockwasher (17) and 3/8 Finish Nut
(16). Do not tighten at this time.
B. Fasten Restrictor Cable (24) to Bumper Plate
(8) using Bolt H 3/16 x 1-1/4” (11), 3/8 Flatwasher
(18), 3/8 oversize Flatwasher (23) and 3/8” Finish
Nut (16).
C. Locate Rail Plates (1 & 2) mark & drill holes
using the Rail Plates (1 & 2) as a guide. Scribe
and drill (4) 7/16” holes and fasten Rail Plates
(1 & 2) using Bolt H 3/8-16 x 1-3/4 (13) and 3/8
Finish Nut (16), 3/8 Flatwasher (18) and 3/8
Lockwasher (17). Do not tighten at this time.

D. With the lower Bumper Plate Assemblies (8 & 9)
and Rail Plates (1 & 2) properly mounted, check
both the Pivot Weld (3) and Post (4) to see if
these need to be cut down. Due to the variety of
truck bumpers, bed rail heights, etc. These two
parts are made intentionally too long. Install the
Pivot Weld (3), Post (4) and Bushing (5) using
the Top Guide (6) with Bolt H 3/8-16 x 1-1/4” (11),
3/8 Flatwasher (18) and 3/8 -18 Finish Nut (16).
Make sure Pivot Weld (3) is plumb before
tightening. Torque Rail Plate (1 & 2) and Bumper
Plate Assembly (8 & 9) at this time.
E. Fasten Restrictor Cable (24) to Pivot Weld (3) using
Bolt H 3/16 x 1-1/4” (11), 3/8 Flatwasher (18), 3/8
oversize Flatwasher (23) and 3/8” Finish Nut (16).
F. Slide Latch Assembly (7) into Pivot Weld (3).
Mount the Meyer Mate Spreader using strap
provided with the spreader and Hair Pin Cotter
(20). Do not tighten strap. Bolt Brace to spreader
using Bolt H 1/2-13 x 7/8 (15) and 1/2 Flatwasher
(19). Locate holes on Brace and scribe Pivot Weld
(3) then drill (4) 7/16” holes. Fasten Brace
(10) to Pivot Weld (3) using Bolt H 3/8-16 x 2-1/2
(14), 3/8 Flatwashers (18), 3/8 Lockwasher (17)
and 3/8 Finish Nut (16).
G. Drill a 7/16 diameter hole thru both Pivot Weld (3)
and Latch Assembly (7) at point A. Fasten using
3/8-16 x 2-1/2” Bolt (6), 3/8” Flatwasher (18), 3/8”
lockwasher (17) and 3/8 Finish Nut (16).
H. Torque all fasteners and tighten Strap.
I. Close and Secure E-Z Swing with Hinge Pin (22)
and Lynch Pin (21).
Note: Disconnect Motor wires and vibrator wires
(if equipped) before operating E-Z Swing.
