Wireless
Basic Settings
This page is used to configure the parameters for wireless LAN clients which may connect to your
Access Point.
¾ Disable Wireless LAN Interface: If user checks his function, wireless LAN will be disabled. In
other words, this device will not be visible by any wireless station.
¾ Band: Select wireless band as 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11b+g.
¾ Mode: Select wireless mode as AP, Client, WDS and AP+WDS. AP mode enables DW3512 to
work as wireless an access point and allow other devices to connect wirelessly to a wired
Ethernet network. Client mode enables DW3512 to perform as a wireless client card and
other devices can connect with Ethernet cable to DW3512. WDS and AP+WDS are used for

AP+WDS is enabled, DW3512 could be working as AP and WDS Repeater
together

¾
Network Type: Only when wireless mode set as client, user can select network type as
infrastructure or Ad hoc. Infrastructure represents a wireless network centered about an
access point. Ad hoc represents a wireless network composed only of stations within mutual
communication range of each other. (No Access Point).
¾ SSID: specify to the DW3512 an SSID (Service Set Identifier),
which is a unique identifier

s over WLAN. The SSID is up to 32 ASCII characters that differentiate the
DW3512 from other WiFi AP, and it is also referred to as the ESSID (Extended Service Set
