2.5 Devi ce I n formation Tab
2.5.1 Device Type
This functi on is f or displ ay pur poses only. It shows any special designation for the unit, whic h will normally
be FI RElink-25.
2.5.2 Firmware Version
This functi on i s for displ ay pur poses only. It shows the versi on num ber of t he fitted firmware chi p.
2.5.3 Run-time Hours
This functi on i s for displ ay pur poses only. It shows the c umulative total number of hours that the devic e
has run (this is not the tim e that has el apsed since last power-up, but the sum total of run time since the
detector mem ory was last reset).
2.5.4 Watchdog Count
The watchdog is a circuit built i nto the controller that restarts the c ontroller in the event of a failure to
function properly. This could be as a result of electrical spik es. This count shows the num ber of
interrupti ons found. The details of eac h pr oblem can be found in the ev ent log. See section 6, “Ev ent
Log” for further details.
2.5.5 Device Text
This functi on has no cur r ent use on the FIRElink - 25 but is reserved for future expansi on pur pose s.
2.6 Referencing Tab
2.6.1 Reference Detector
A FIRE link detector may use another detector as a fresh ai r refer ence. Thi s func tion is the address of the
detec tor whi c h will be used as the reference. To set a detector as a ref er enc e detector, enter its address
as set by its i nternal DIP switch into this functi on. This function is disabled by default.
2.6.2 Reference Enable
Ticking thi s box enables the reference f or the detector, if one has previousl y been all oc ated in Refer enc e
detec tor (see section 2.6.1). This func tion is disabled by default.
2.6.3 Reference Level
The v alue set wi th this function i s the per c entage refer ence signal subtr ac ted fr om the detector’s si gnal, if
a ref er enc e dev ice has been all oc ated. T he default value is 0.
2.6.4 Reference Back-off
This value is t he delay time between a buil d up of pol lution being seen by the referenc e (if used) and the
pollution being seen by t he detector. The def ault value is 15.
