This section provides detailed specifications and recommended products for the
customer-responsibility interface cables. For the V.24/V.35/X.21 cables provided as
fittings, see Subsection 3.9.3.

Note: For direct connectionbetweenthe routerand theotherend device, make sureof the connector
type on the other end device which may require a different cable.

Note: The customer responsibilityinterface cables include multimodeand single-mode optical fiber
cables. Since the optical fibercable may take various routes (e.g., outdoorpipes, ducts,
troughs, bitts on utility poles and buildings, pipeshafts, racks, and garrets), special attention
has to be paid for the physical structureof the optical fiber cables to be procured.
Make surethatthe inner core fibers are duly protected from mechanical stresses (e.g.,
repeated bends, stretches, compressions, and rubs during the routing work) and
environmental stresses.
