 Conditions for connection and installation

 IMPORTANT: Observe the conditions for connection and installation

that are listed in the manual for the range of devices in question before

you connect the device to the supply. The complete manual can be

found at “Instructions on downloading product information (manuals,

software)” on page 5.

 Verify that the electrical installation meets local or nationally applicable

safety regulations.

 Qualification requirements for personnel

This product may only be erected, installed, set up and operated by

persons who are adequately qualified to perform the task, for example

having been trained, taught or authorized to connect, to switch on and off,

to ground and to label power circuits, devices or systems in accordance

with current safety engineering standards.

 Setting up the device WARNING ELECTRIC SHOCK  For supply voltage connections with protective conductor connections and/or ground connections on the device casing: Ground the device before connecting the power supply and other connections. When removing connections, remove the protective or ground connector last. Observe the notes in the manual.  Connect only a supply voltage that corresponds to the type plate of your device.

 For devices and connections with supply voltages of less than 30 V AC or less than 60 V DC Supply voltage connections and signal contacts may exclusively be connected to SELV circuits with voltage restrictions in accordance with IEC/EN 60950-1. Observe the required fuse ratings in the manual. For devices with Class 2 indication on the type plate the following requirements apply:  Alternative 1 The power supply complies with the requirements for a limited power source (LPS) in accordance with EN 60950-1.
