1. Slacken the locking screw of the swivel arm.
2. Tilt the swivel to the desired position.
3. Tighten the locking screw.
6 Operation
6.1 Switching on
1. Press the rear section of the on/off switch.
2. Slide the on/off switch forward.
➥ The motor runs.
3. Lock the on/off switch.
6.2 Setting the speed
▶ Use the adjusting knob to set the speed.

6.3 Grinding
CAUTION
Risk of injury! Touching a moving abrasive belt can lead to painful skin abrasion and cut injuries.
▶ Do not touch the moving abrasive belt.
Do not exceed the speed rating printed on the abrasive belt.
Secure the workpiece you are going to file.
1. Lift the band file clear of the work surface.
2. Switch the tool on. → page 8
➥ The power tool then runs in sustained operating mode.
3. Set the speed. → page 8
4. Bring the band file with the abrasive belt into contact with the work surface and keep it moving with a
steady back-and-forth action.
5. Work with the pulling run of the abrasive belt.
6. Apply moderate pressure and do not press the abrasive belt into the material. Excessive contact pressure
can cause the abrasive belt to slip off the contact roller.
