8.1 Troubleshooting
Trouble or fault Possible cause Action to be taken
The drill / driver does
not work.
The battery is not cor-
rectly inserted.
▶ Insert the battery.

The battery is
discharged.
▶ Change the battery
and charge the empty
battery.
All 4 LEDs flash.
The drill / driver does
not work.
The drill / driver was
overloaded briefly.
▶ Release the control
switch and then press
it again.
Protection against over-
heating
▶ Wait until the drill /
driver cools down
and then clean the air
vents.
1 LED flashes.
The drill / driver does
not work.
The battery is
discharged.
▶ Change the battery
and charge the empty
battery.
The battery is too cold. ▶ Bring the battery to
the recommended
working temperature.
The battery is too hot. ▶ Bring the battery to
the recommended
working temperature.
SF 6H-A22
Hammer-action
drilling is not pos-
sible.
The operating mode is
not set correctly at the
selector ring.
▶ Set the selector ring to
the “Hammer-action
drilling” position .
The control switch
cannot be pressed,
or is stuck.
The forward/reverse se-
lector switch is in the
middle position (trans-
port position).
▶ Set the
forward/reverse
selector switch
to forward or
reverse rotation, as
applicable. → page 12
The drill / driver or
the battery gets very
hot.
Electrical fault ▶ Switch the drill /
driver off immediately,
remove the battery
and contact Hilti
Service.
The drill / driver is over-
loaded (application limit
exceeded).
▶ Check the application.
