2. Choose the work mode of current DVR. Normal Mode indicates this DVR work as usual way.
Hot Spare Mode means this DVR work as a hot spare device.
3. Once selected the normal mode, enter all the information required in the Enable tab, including:
IPv4 address of the hot spare device, and the Password of the hot spare device.
4. Select the Apply button to save the e-mail settings and select to return to the previous
menu. Selecting without clicking Save will quit out of the menu without saving settings.
Note: NVR and H-DVR support this function.
Configuring POS (Point of Sale) Settings
The POS feature supports display POS information on corresponding channels in preview and playback.
To setup POS settings:
1. Enter the POS configuration menu by going to Menu > System Configuration > POS.

2. Choose the POS channel for parameters setting.
3. Click on the Enable check box, and configure Device Name, Connection and POS Protocol.
4. Click Connection to select one connection mode between the Text In device and DVR.
Note: For the communication protocol AVE, it only supports RS-232 connection mode.
Note: For the communication protocol Generic, it supports all of the 3 connection modes above.
(RS-232, TCP Listen and TCP Receive modes)
a. For the RS-232 connection, click Set to configure RS-232 settings as follows.
Note: All the RS-232 settings should be consistent with the POS terminals settings, and the RS232
Mode shall be selected as Transparent Channel.
Note: Only 1 POS terminal can be connected via RS232.
