Backing up, editing and restoring the user dictionary
Back ups of the user dictionary are done on a SD card.
TIP: We recommend also backing up the copy on your SD card on your PC for extra
security. For this you need a SD card reader for your PC, which, if not already on your PC,
can be obtained from any computer shop.
ATTENTION:
Copying back the user dictionary from the SD card onto your device will overwrite all the
contents of the user dictionary already on your device. Therefore, if necessary, add a back
up copy of your existing user dictionary.
Backing up the user dictionary
Insert a formatted SD card with at least 2 MB free storage space into your Hexaglot Attaché.
Press the red key and MENU to access the main menu. Go to the user dictionary, select
Download/Upload and then Download. When you press enter the device will load the
user dictionary currently in the device onto the SD card with the data name userdata.txt.
On the SD card is now a copy of your user dictionary in the device. Data mistakenly deleted
on the device. You can also use the copy on the SD card to share your user dictionary with
other owners of the Hexaglot Attaché. Take care, however, to respect the copyright.
ATTENTION:
The data on the SD card is only a copy of the user dictionary in the Attaché at the time of
backing it up. If you later add new entries to the user dictionary on the Attaché, they will be
saved on the device but not on the SD card. We therefore recommend you add a new copy
of the user dictionary to the SD card every time you make great changes.
