the required phrase is shown on the screen, press FAVORIT. The phrase will be put into
your personal list of favorites.
TIP:
Acceptance of the phrase either happens automatically or on request for confirmation,
according to the setting in Dictionary configuration. In Learn mode you can view, sort and
delete entries in your personal favorite list or learn items as vocabulary. Read more informa-
tion on this in the Learn mode section.
Notes on style: Calling up notes on style is a similar procedure to that for phrases.
NOTE:
Search, voice output and favorites functions are not available for notes on style.
17. User dictionary/memo
The user dictionary/memo function is there to store your data, e.g. your phone number or
dictionary entries. Unlike the standard dictionary of the Hexaglot Attaché, the standard
dictionary does not differentiate between languages. You can find the user dictionary/memo
and functions in the programm selection menu. To add new entries to the user diction-
ary/memo or search or delete existing entries, always press MENU first.
NOTE:
The Hexaglot Attaché has storage space for 1 MB, this corresponds to around a million
characters. Assuing that your own dictionary entries include on average 100 characters, you
can save around 10,000 of your own entries. The memory is used for both entries in the
user dictionary and for memos. This implies that a high number of memos reduces the
available memory area for entries in the user dictionary and vice versa.
It is possible to copy the contents of the user dictionary onto SD card. Thus, you will have a
backup of your entries and you can also make your user dictionary available to others.
There is a PC program as an accessory with which you can work comfortably on your user
dictionary entries on your PC. The user dictionary modified on the PC can then be copied
back onto the Attaché.
ATTENTION:
Copying a user dictionary from SD card back onto the device will overwrite the previous
content of the user dictionary on the device.
NOTE:
- Within the dictionary function, entries from the user dictionary are recognisable by the
symbol M|.
- Entries from the user dictionary appear in the incremental suggestion list already after
enter the complete word.
- Entries from the user dictionary are not tied to any language combination or direction.
- Entries apply to all language combinations.
Adding entries to the user dictionary/memo
To create a new entry, proceed as follows:
- Press MENU and select User dictionary or Memo from the menu.
- Press enter.
