6. Overview of device
Powering on and off
To power the Hexaglot Attaché on, press the red key until the device turns on. The Hexaglot
Attaché switches itself off automatically if no keys are pressed within a period of a few
minutes. Press the red key again to switch off the device manually.
Keyboard
The following functions are provided with the Hexaglot Attaché keys:
Mode keys
Use these keys to enable basic functions of the Hexaglot Attaché (diag. IV).
Keep pressed the black key with the white symbol to switch the device on
and off.
HELP
Displays help text for the mode currently active.
MENU
Opens a menu with further functions

3. User dictionary
4. Phone book
5. Memo
6. Calculator
7. Clock
8. Games
9. Conversion
10. Setup
TRANS
Switch to dictionary mode.
FAVORIT
Copies the current dictionary entry into your personal list of favourites (only
in dictionary mode).
VOICE
Activates the English voice output for the current entry or highlighted text
(only in dictionary mode).
ZOOM
Enlarges/reduces the size of text on the screen (not available in all operat-
ing modes).
Display keys
Three large display keys are positioned below the Hexaglot Attaché screen. The functions
currently active for these keys are displayed as text in the bottom line of the display on the
black fields. Below is an overview of all possible display key functions in alphabetical order:
Back
Jumps back to the last level displayed – same effect as pressing the esc
key.
Calc Starts the calculator.
