The installation Assistant may display an error message:
- if you have not plugged the HomePlug adapter present on your network into an electrical
outlet before launching the installation Assistant.
- if this adapter is not connected via the Ethernet cable to the computer on which you have
launched the Assistant.
To resolve the problem:
- Verify that your adapter is properly plugged into an electrical outlet (preferably a wall outlet),
or try plugging it into another outlet.
- Verify that the adapter and the device are properly connected to one another via the Ethernet
cable.
- Verify that the adapter's power LED is lit up.
Once you have verified all of these elements, click Retry.
2. Enter the network password
- In the installation Assistant window displayed onscreen, enter the network password you wish to use. This
password must include between 4 and 24 characters, and may be composed of numbers and uppercase or
lowercase letters. By default, we suggest the password "HomePlug", but you are free to select any password
you like.
3. Enter the identifiers for your Hercules ePlug 85 adapters
- In the installation Assistant window displayed onscreen, enter the identifiers of the Hercules ePlug 85
adapters composing your network (except that of the adapter connected via an Ethernet cable to your
computer), as well as the identifiers of the adapters you wish to add to your existing HomePlug network.
These identifiers are found on the sticker on the back of the adapter (indicated "ID" on the sticker).
