SUBMITTAL SHEET: Plumbers Caulk™

SPECIFICATIONS:
Plumbers Caulk™
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Preparation: Surfaces should be clean and dry. Remove loose grout, mortar, dust, and dirt with a
dry brush or rag. Do not use solvents to clean joints unless surfaces can dry thoroughly before
caulk application. Joint depth should not exceed 1/2”. Remove overcap on nozzle and cut off
tip for desired caulk thickness. For best results, apply when ambient temperature is at least 50°F
(10°C).
Application: For tube, squeeze with steady pressure. For cartridge, apply with caulking gun.
Bead may be smoothed with wet finger or tool before caulk dries. For tooling ease, keep tools
moist with soapy water. Wipe off any excess caulk with damp cloth before it dries. Replace
overcap after using. Allow to stand overnight before water contacts new caulk. Can be painted
with latex or oil base paint after 24 hours.
Clean up: Wash hands, tools, and adjacent surfaces with soapy water before caulk dries.
Note: Some brands of caulk are packaged in the same size tubes and cartridges as Hercules
and show a “Net Weight” which is close to Hercules “Fluid Measure”. In all instances, the “Fluid
Measure” package contains substantially more material. Compare package sizes. If they are
the same, know that the one designating “Fluid Measure” gives you more.
