SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS**
A professional grade, permanently flexible, malleable sealant
specially formulated for use on marble, granite, natural, or
synthetic stone products, cultured marble, plastics, rubber,
fiberglass, ceramic, enameled, wood, concrete, grout,
elastomeric materials and all plumbing metals.**
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Specific gravity: 1.95 +/- 0.05
Solubility: Insoluble in water, oils or
mineral spirits.
Appearance: Off white, malleable solid.
Texture: Stretchable and slightly tacky.
WARNINGS OR CAUTIONS
** Never mix Sta Put Ultra with normal types of
plumber’s putty - staining will occur.
If used with exotic materials not normally used for
countertops or fixtures, ensure your selected surface is
resistant to staining by utilizing a small test sample on a raw
piece of stone and observe effect over 30 minutes. Some
staining may occur on very porous surfaces directly beneath
the area being sealed. It will not “bleed” from that area, and
will not be visible after installation.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take out the required amount of Sta Put Ultra and roll
between the palms of your hands to soften and shape the
sealant to the form desired.
Sta Put Ultra is viscoelastic and
will soften as pressure from the hand is applied. Since
Sta Put Ultra has some adhesive qualities, it will be easier
to use a putty knife to scoop out the portion needed. Roll the
sealant into a cord like shape to form into loops for placing
around basin cocks, strainers, faucet bases, bowl settings
etc. Overlap the ends of the loops or ends of adjoining
lengths to form a continuous seal.
Meets or exceeds Federal Specification TT-P-1536.
Sta Put Ultra can be used on all surfaces or for all
applications without fear of producing unwanted stains. It is
especially useful on surfaces that may be otherwise damaged
or stained by conventional plumbers putty or other oil based
sealants. Use for setting sinks, fixtures, faucets, basin cocks,
strainers, plugs, sink frames and miscellaneous sealing and
caulking jobs on most types of surfaces, ductwork, or service
penetrations.
Place the fixture over the bead, attach and tighten down the
fasteners for the fixture. Because of the adhesive qualities of
Sta Put Ultra the bead of putty can be applied to either the
framework or the fixture.
In addition to its use as a non-staining plumbers putty
Sta Put Ultra can also be used as a permanently soft and
flexible non-pressurized water, air or gas sealant in gaps
around wires, pipes, or vents. The sealant can be used
indoors or outdoors, is weather tight, and also resistant to
vegetable and petroleum oils. It can be used to patch small
holes and joints in duct work and many other similar
applications where temperatures will not exceed 300°F.
Make sure the surface is clean and oil free before applying.
Properly applied,
Sta Put Ultra will stay in place without
hardening or drying out and can be easily removed even
years later. If product is difficult to remove from package due
to its adhesive nature, use a putty knife to scoop out the
portion needed.
