Description
HE869 - RUBBERIZED ALUMINUM ROOF COATING is a premium, highly reflective, waterproof roof coating made with
SBS rubber polymers, which give the coating outstanding strength and elastic properties. It is an excellent top surfacing
for new or weathered asphalt surfaces, smooth modified bitumen membranes, and metal roofs. It is suitable for
commercial, institutional, and industrial applications. Its highly reflective properties will extend roof life expectancy by
retarding the adverse effects of solar radiation and reducing roof surface temperatures. It also reduces interior building
temperatures. NOT FOR SALE IN CALIFORNIA.

Usage
It is designed for application over built-up, modified bitumen, metal and concrete roofs. As a rubber modified coating, it is
an excellent choice when a coating is needed on a roof that exhibits movement. The formula is rubberized to expand and
contract with the roof to resist cracking. It is an excellent choice when concerned with maximizing reflectivity when using
an aluminum coating. High quality aluminum pigments are used in a proprietary formulation designed to allow the
aluminum pigments to dry in the most optimized pattern, helping to keep the inside of the building cooler, thereby
reducing air conditioning costs. Due to its waterproofing characteristics, it is an excellent coating for use on low slope
roofs that exhibit ponding water*. It is also used in many Henry roof coating systems, which are designed to preserve,
protect and restore your current roof membrane vs. doing a costly tear off and reroof. Contact Henry Company for
details.
Coverage
Approximately 100 square feet per 1.5 - 2.0 gallons per coat. As roof slope increases, coverage should be reduced to
prevent run-off or slippage.
Surface Preparation
CLEAN: The surface must be clean, smooth, dry, and free of any dust, oils, debris, or other elements which could
interfere with proper adhesion. A prime coat is not recommended. Carefully inspect area to be coated, including around
pipes, chimneys, equipment, roof edges and walls. Repair all cracks, breaks, splits, and holes and seal around all roof
penetrations, transitions, roof flashings, or any other areas susceptible to leaks with a premium Henry solvent-based
mastic and fiberglass reinforcing fabric; such as Henry #209 Extreme Wet Patch® Roof Leak Repair and Henry #183
Roof Repair Fabric. When used with Henry #183 Roof Repair Fabric, Henry #209 Extreme Wet Patch® Roof Leak
Repair offers a lifetime warranty. Contact Henry Company for details. For best results, allow the solvent-based mastic to
cure for 30 days to avoid discoloration. The roof should be cleaned with a pressure washer using suitable pressure to
clean the roof membrane without causing damage prior to coating. Stubborn dirt which does not come off with a pressure
washer should be scrubbed with a brush and non-filming detergent, such as TSP. Rinse and allow to dry before applying
the coating.
NOTE: Coating is not designed to seal leaks.
