CuttingGrass
•Cutonlyaboutathirdofthegrasscutterbladeata
time.
•Whencuttinggrassover150mmtall,mowatthe
highestcuttingheightsettingandwalkslower;then
mowagainatalowersettingforthebestlawn
appearance.Ifthegrassistoolong,themowermay
blockandcausetheenginetostall.
•Mowonlydrygrassorleaves.Wetgrassandleaves
tendtoclumponthelawnandcancausethemower
toplugortheenginetostall.
Wetgrassorleavescancauseseriousinjuryif
youslipandcontactthecutterblade.Mowonly
indryconditions.
•Alternatethemowingdirection.Thishelpsdisperse
theclippingsoverthelawnforevenfertilization.
•Ifthenishedlawnappearanceisunsatisfactory,try
oneormoreofthefollowing:
–Replacethecutterbladeorhaveitsharpened.
–Walkataslowerpacewhilemowing.
–Raisethecuttingheightonyourmower.
–Cutthegrassmorefrequently.
–Overlapcuttingswathsinsteadofcuttingafull
swathwitheachpass.
–Setthecuttingheightonthefrontwheelsone
notchlowerthantherearwheels.Forexample,
setthefrontwheelsat51mmandtherear
wheelsat64mm.
CuttingLeaves
•Aftercuttingthelawn,ensurethathalfofthelawn
showsthroughthecutleafcover.Youmayneedto
makemorethanonepassovertheleaves.
•Iftherearemorethan130mmofleavesonthe
lawn,setthefrontcuttingheightoneortwonotches
higherthantherearcuttingheight.
•Slowdownyourmowingspeedifthemowerdoes
notcuttheleavesnelyenough.
