IP Address: The IP address of the WAN port
IP Netmask (Subnet): The subnet mask of the WAN port
PPTP Server IP address: The IP address of the PPTP server
Username: Username of the PPTP connection
Password: Password of the PPTP connection
Reconnect Mode: Always on – A connection to internet is always maintained
On Demand – A connection to internet is made as needed
Manual – Click on the “Connect” button on “WAN information” in the overview
page to connect to the internet.
Idle Time: Time to last before disconnecting PPPoE session when it is idle. Enter preferred
idle time in minutes. Default is ‘0’. When idle time is disabled, the reconnect
mode will be set to “Always on”
MTU: By default, it is 1492 bytes. Consult with your ISP for correct MTU setting.
MPPE Encryption: Microsoft Point-to-Point Encryption (MPPE) encrypts data in Point-to-Point
Protocol (PPP)-based dial-up connections or Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol
(PPTP) virtual private network (VPN) connections. 128-bit key (strong) and 40-
bit key (standard) MPPE encryption schemes are supported. MPPE provides
data security for the PPTP connection that is between the VPN client and the
VPN server.
