Question: After the Setup Wizard has detected my remote control network and transferred the settings
over, the modules listed are not in the order that I have installed them. How do I tell which module is
which?
Answer: This sometimes happens when the remote control you are using has been previously used to
install another network. If you have previously used your remote control for installing other modules you
will need to reset your remote control and try the detection and transfer to the Gateway again after you’ve
re-added all your modules. Or you may continue with the Wizard installation and test each module by
turning them ON and OFF with the HomeRemote Web Interface to figure out which module is which and
name them accordingly. (You can adjust the names and test which module is which in the SETUP tab of
the HomeRemote Web Interface. In the SETUP page go to ADD/REMOTE DEVICES and name your
devices here)
Question: How do I setup my Notification settings? My Email test always fails.
Answer: You are probably using a SMTP Outgoing Mail server that is incorrect. To view the tutorial on
how to find the correct SMTP Outgoing Mail Server go to www.hawkingtech.com/mailservertutorial.php
15.4 - HomeRemote Gateway Web Interface
Question: I can’t access my HomeRemote Gateway Web Inteface from a home computer. What’s
wrong?
Answer: This likely because you are trying to use your custom web address to access the Gateway. This
will not work if you are using a computer that is connected to your home network. To access the interface
from you home network you will need to enter the IP address into the address bar of your internet web
browser. If you do not know what your IP address is, you can run the Setup Wizard CD and click next a
few times until you get to the Gateway detection page. Once the Wizard detects your Gateway it will list
an IP address next to it. Copy this IP address and use it when accessing your Gateway from within your
home.
Question: The Home Status page is responding very slowly. How do I fix this?
Answer: If you have many Z-Wave modules in your network or one is out of reach or no longer working,
this can cause lag in your network speed as the network continuously tries to contact the module. Figure
out which module is causing problems and delete it from your network using the remote control. If you
wish to add it in a new location (if it is in functioning condition) you can do so with your remote control.
You will need to access the ‘Setup’ page on the web interface to re-add the module to your home layout.
Question: I forgot my login to my Gateway. What do I do?
Answer: Go to www.cell-link.homeremote.net
, on the login page there should be a link that says: ‘Forgot
Password.’ Click this link, enter your Email and your password will be emailed to you shortly.
Question: Device Linking takes a long time to adjust all devices. Why is this?
Answer: Device Linking works in a chain reaction fashion. The Master device will send a command to
the next device and so on. If you have a large Linking setup it may take awhile to change all modules
successfully. The less modules you have the faster the feature will work.
Question: How do I create a Scene, Alert or Device Link?
Answer: Go to the Device Management page on the web interface and click on the link that will add the
feature you wish to add.
Question: How do I set schedules for single modules or a group of modules?
