Coding keys
Coding keys are used to prevent mismating of boards.
They can be inserted into the multifunctional area of
male and female connectors with special tooling. This
can be easily done after the connectors have been
pressed in.
To identify coding keys very simply they have different
bright and pre-defined RAL colours. In the table below
the colours and code numbers in acc. to the IEC
61076-4-101 are listed. They will be used for the
following applications:
_ Cadmium yellow for CompactPCI to identify 3.3 V
bus signalling
_ Brilliant blue for CompactPCI to identify 5.0 V bus
signalling
_ Reseda green to prevent accidental board insertion
in VME64x on CompactPCI applications
_ Strawberry red to prevent accidental board insertion
in telephony applications
_ Pastel orange for user defined bus
_ Nut brown for rear I/O and user I/O
