The following signal words and meanings are intended to explain the levels of risk associated with this product.
SYMBOL SIGNAL MEANING

DOUBLE INSULATION
Doubleinsulationisaconceptinsafetyinelectricproducts,
whicheliminatestheneedfortheusualthree-wiregrounded
powercord.Allexposedmetalpartsareisolatedfromthe
internalmetalmotorcomponentswithprotectinginsulation.
Doubleinsulatedproductsdonotneedtobegrounded.
WARNING:
Thedoubleinsulatedsystemisintendedtoprotectthe
userfromshockresultingfromabreakintheproduct’s
internalwiring.Observeallnormalsafetyprecautionsto
avoidelectricalshock.
NOTE:Servicingofaproductwithdoubleinsulationrequires
extreme care and knowledge of the system and should
be performed only by a qualified service technician. For
service,wesuggestyoureturntheproducttoyournearest
authorized service center for repair. Always use original
factoryreplacementpartswhenservicing.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Thisisahybridproductcapableofoperatingonalternating
current(AC)throughanextensioncordordirectcurrent(DC)
throughabatterypack.Iftheproductdoesnotoperatewhen
anextensioncordorbatterypackisinstalled,double-check
thepowersupply.
To use alternating current, connect the product to a
power supply that is 120 volts, AC only (normal
household current), 60 Hz.
To use direct current, install a manufacturer-
recommended 20 volt battery pack only.
NOTE: Do not operate this product on direct current
through an extension cord. Doing so would cause a
substantialvoltagedrop,whichwillcausealossofpower
andcouldcausetheproducttooverheat.
ELECTRICAL
EXTENSION CORDS
Whenusingaproductataconsiderabledistancefroma
powersource,besuretouseanextensioncordthathas
thecapacitytohandlethecurrenttheproductwilldraw.An
undersizedcordwillcauseadropinlinevoltage,resultingin
overheatingandlossofpower.Usethecharttodetermine
theminimumwiresizerequiredinanextensioncord.Only
roundjacketedcordslistedbyUnderwriter’sLaboratories
(UL)shouldbeused.
When using this product outdoors, use an extension
cordthatisdesignedforoutsideuse.Thistypeofcordis
designatedwith“WA”or“W”onthecord’sjacket.
Before using any extension cord, inspect it for loose or
exposedwiresandcutorworninsulation.
