10. Emergency Assist
If the vehicle reports a qualified crash event in a market that support the feature, the infotainment
system will support the Emergency Assist feature.
• If the user has turned off the feature, there will be a notification that the Emergency Assistance
is Off and the emergency call will not be placed.
• If the feature is turned on and there is no mobile phone connected, the user will be notified that
a call cannot be placed.
• If, at any time, the feature is determined to be non-operational, a warning will displayed to
indicate this status to the user.
• If the feature is turned on and there is a mobile phone connected, the feature will be active and
support the following:
o A prompt will be played to indicate that the systems will attempt to call 911.
o A display will inform the user that the call is being placed. The user will have the option to
cancel the call using the screen or the steering wheel controls.
o Once the call is connected, the system will provide Prompts to a PSAP operator with crash
information.
o When the call is connected to the PSAP operator, the screen will indicate that the systems is
connected to an emergency operator.
