To remove: position socket 2 on hub cap

The socket can be found in the tyre-change
tool kit.

Position wheel spanner 3 on socket 2.

Using wheel spanner 3, turn hub cap 1
anti-clockwise and remove it.
#
To fit: follow the instructions above in
reverse order.

Specified tightening torque: 25 Nm.
Raising the vehicle when changing a wheel
Requirements:
R
There are no persons in the vehicle.
R
The vehicle has been prepared for a wheel
change (/ page 500).
R
The hub caps have been removed
(/ page 500).
Important notes on using the jack:
R
Use only a vehicle-specific jack that has
been approved by Mercedes-Benz to raise
the vehicle.
R
The jack is only designed for raising and
holding the vehicle for a short time while a
wheel is being changed and not for mainte‐
nance work under the vehicle.
R
The jack must be placed on a firm, flat and
non-slip surface.
R
The foot of the jack must be positioned verti‐
cally under the jack support point.
Rules of conduct when the vehicle is raised:
R
Never place your hands or feet under the
vehicle.
R
Never lie under the vehicle.
R
Do not start the engine and do not release
the electric parking brake.
R
Do not open or close any doors or the boot
lid.

Using the wheel wrench, loosen the wheel
bolts on the wheel you wish to change by
about one full turn. Do not unscrew the bolts
completely.
