Possible causes/consequences and M Solutions

Change key batteries
* The key battery is discharged.

Replace the battery (/ page 69).

Key not detected (white dis‐
play message)
* The key is currently undetected.

Change the location of the key in the vehicle.
#
If the key is still not recognised, place it in the slot for starting with the key (/ page 175).

Key not detected (red dis‐
play message)
* The key cannot be detected and may no longer be in the vehicle.
The key is no longer in the vehicle and you switch off the engine:

You can no longer start the engine.
R
You cannot centrally lock the vehicle.

Ensure that the key is in the vehicle.
If the key detection function has a malfunction due to a strong radio signal source:

Stop the vehicle immediately in accordance with the traffic conditions.

Place the key in the slot for starting the engine with the key (/ page 175).
