Only one mobile phone at a time can be connec‐
ted via Android Auto with the multimedia sys‐
tem.
Also for use of Android Auto with two phone
mode, only one additional mobile phone can be
connected using Bluetooth
®
with the multimedia
system.
The full range of functions for Android Auto is
only possible with an Internet connection.
The availability of Android Auto and Android Auto
apps may vary according to the country.
The service provider is responsible for this appli‐
cation and the services and content connected
to it.
Information on Android Auto
The Android Auto symbol in the status line
switches within Android Auto to the last active
display.
If route guidance is active on the multimedia sys‐
tem, it is closed when route guidance is started
on the mobile phone.
Connecting a mobile phone via Android Auto
Requirements:

The mobile phone supports Android Auto
from Android 5.0.

The current version of the Android Auto app
is installed on the mobile phone.

In order to use the telephone functions, the
mobile phone must be connected to the mul‐
timedia system via Bluetooth
®
(/ page 373).
If there was no prior Internet connection, this
is established with the use of the mobile
phone with Android Auto.

Connect the mobile phone to a USB port on
the multimedia system using a suitable cable
(/ page 425).
When the application is connected for the
first time, a message about data protection
regulations appears.

Accept & start.

multimedia system via the device man‐

Start Android Auto using the relevant symbol
next to the device name.

The first activation of Android Auto on the
multimedia system must be carried out
when the vehicle is stationary for safety rea‐
sons.

If Android Auto was not displayed in the fore‐
ground before disconnecting, the application
starts in the background when reconnected.
You can call up Android Auto using the
Android Auto symbol in the status bar.
