When leaving the vehicle, always take
the key with you and lock the vehicle.

Always secure the vehicle against roll‐
ing away.

Bring the vehicle to a standstill by applying
the brake pedal.

On gradients, turn the front wheels so that
the vehicle will roll towards the kerb if it
starts moving.

Apply the electric parking brake.

Engage transmission position j in a station‐
ary vehicle with the brake pedal applied
(/ page 187).

Switch off the engine and the ignition by
pressing the 1 button.

Release the service brake slowly.

Get out of the vehicle and lock it.

When you park the vehicle, you can still
operate the side windows and the panorama
sliding sunroof for approximately five
minutes if the driver's door is closed.
