restraint systems in the "Universal" category.
These child restraint systems must also be
secured using Top Tether or support points.

Semi-Universal: child restraint systems in
the "Semi-Universal" category may only be
used if the vehicle and vehicle seat are listed
in the child restraint system manufacturer's
vehicle model list.

Vehicle-specific: child restraint systems in
the "vehicle-specific" category may only be
used if the vehicle and vehicle seat are listed
in the child restraint system manufacturer's
vehicle model list.

i‑Size: child restraint systems in the "i‑Size"
category are approved for installation in vehi‐
cles with i‑Size mounting brackets. They can
be used, in accordance with overviews of the
suitability of seats for securing child restraint
systems, on seats labelled i‑U.
The identification i‑U refers to i‑Size child
restraint systems in the "Universal" category.
These child restraint systems must also be
secured using Top Tether or support points.
Observe the suitability of vehicle seats
Depending on the approval category, there are
forward-facing and rearward-facing child
restraint systems. Their use can be restricted for
certain vehicle seats:
