USER-MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS
Procedures not specically
explained in this manual
must be performed only by a
qualied technician.
TO PREVENT
SERIOUS INJURY
FROM ACCIDENTAL
OPERATION:
Turn off the tool, detach the
air supply, safely discharge
any residual air pressure in
the tool, and release the
throttle and/or turn the switch
to its off position before
performing any inspection,
maintenance, or cleaning
procedures.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS
INJURY FROM TOOL
FAILURE:
Do not use damaged
equipment. If abnormal
noise, vibration, or leaking
air occurs, have the problem
corrected before further use.
TO PREVENT EXPLOSION:
Lubricate the tool only
with specied lubricants.
Lubricate the air inlet using
only pneumatic tool oil. Other
lubricants may damage the
mechanism and may be
highly ammable, causing an
explosion.
Cleaning, Maintenance, and
Lubrication
Note: These procedures are in addition to
the regular checks and maintenance
explained as part of the regular op-
eration of the air-operated tool.
1. Daily - Air Supply Maintenance:
Every day, perform maintenance on
the air supply according to the com-
ponent manufacturers’ instructions.
The lubricator’s oil level needs to be
maintained and the moisture lter
must be regularly drained. Perform-
ing routine maintenance on the air
supply will allow the tool to operate
more safely and will also reduce wear
on the tool.
2. Daily - Oil Lubrication:
Drop some oil into the inlet of the tool
then run the tool slowly for a minute
before beginning work.
3. Weekly: Clean Silencer Filter (4).
Remove Silencer Cap (5), remove
the lter and wash in warm water.
Allow to dry completely prior to
replacement.
4. Any dirt or dust inside the motor may
result in slow rotation or complete
stoppage. Use an air lter at the air
source to lter out dust and dirt.
5. Periodically, remove the Backing Pad
(36), by sliding the supplied Wrench
(37) between the Backing Pad and
the exible Skirt (16-1). Engage the
nut on the shaft to lock it, and spin
the Backing Pad off.
6. Clean out the inner workings of the
sander inside the Housing (1) with a
vacuum or a brush.
7. Replace and secure the Backing Pad.
