10. Hook the Trigger Hook on the Turning Bar
of the Front Door. The Trigger Hook will
keep the door open. See Figure G.
Figure G
11. For a more sensitive setting (for smaller animals),
hook the Trigger Hook onto the Turning Bar using
only the tip of the Hook. If needed, use a pair of pliers
(not included) to bend the Trigger Hook accordingly.
Note: For best results, the trap should spring at the
slightest pressure on the Trigger Pan. Even heavier
animals tread lightly in unfamiliar surroundings,
so the Trigger Hook should be adjusted in such
a way that it is held in place by friction alone.
12. Fine-tune and test the pressure setting by pressing
gently on the Trigger Pan with a pencil or screwdriver.
13. Continue to make adjustments until a setting
appropriate to the intended animal is found.
14. Put Bait between Trigger Pan and Back
Door. Bait should be far enough from the Trap
walls to prevent it from being reached from the
outside. Do not put bait on Trigger Pan.
