Such a coupler contains an air valve that will allow the air tool to retain pressure and operate accidentally after the air supply is disconnected.

4. 5. The Air Impact Wrench can be used in either Forward or Reverse. To operate in Forward, turn the Regulator Knob (42) clockwise or to the right. NOTE: There are three torque settings for the Forward direction. For Reverse, turn the Regulator Knob to counterclockwise or to the left.
