Coupler Maintenance Guide
One of the most essential parts of travel trailer
ownership is following a routine maintenance
schedule. Because our trailers are built to last,
a routine maintenance will help ensure your
trailer is safe on the road for years to come. Your
maintenance schedule should be scheduled around
an annual schedule and your travel plans.
This guide can ensure your coupler stays in good
shape. Though this guide covers the essentials
of coupler maintenance, be sure to use your best
judgment about maintaining your trailer and visit a
mechanic regularly to keep things in tip-top shape.

COUPLER MAINTENANCE
Make sure pieces are not damaged, bent, or
functioning improperly. On occasion, you may need
to tighten or replace different coupler components to
make sure you can tow safely.
We have more information about replacing the
threaded nut on page 2.
You can replace the locking plate by unscrewing
the threaded nut (see page 2 for instructions) and
inserting the locking plate in place. Make sure the
angled pieces are facing down. You can see the
angeled pieces of the locking plate in the image to
the right.
