TAKING pH MEASUREMENTS
Secure the connections of the
pH electrode and the tempera-
ture probe to the top of the
meter. If possible, use plastic
beakers to minimize any EMC
interferences.
To take pH measurements,
simply submerge the bottom
4 cm (1½") of the electrode
and the temperature probe in
the solution to be tested, stir
gently and allow for the elec-
trode to adjust and stabilize.
Press the RANGE key to get into the pH
mode.
In order to take more accurate pH measure-
ments, make sure that the instrument is cali-
brated for pH by checking the last calibration
data (see page 13) and eventually calibrate it
before use (see page 19).
If measurements are taken successively in
different samples, it is recommended to rinse
the electrode thoroughly with deionized water
(or if not available tap water) first and then
with some of the next sample to test to
condition the electrode before taking a read-
ing.
Note: When taking pH measurements, in or-
der to have the best accuracy and
proper temperature compensation, im-
merse the temperature probe as close
as possible to the pH electrode.
