pH CALIBRATION
It is recommended to calibrate the instrument
frequently, especially if high accuracy is re-
quired.
The instrument should be re-calibrated for
pH:
• Whenever the pH electrode or temperature
probe is replaced.
• At least once a month.
• After testing aggressive chemicals.
• After cleaning procedure and changing the
reference electrolyte.
• If greatest accuracy is required.
PREPARATION
Pour small quantities of the buffer solutions
into clean beakers. If possible use plastic
beakers to minimize any EMC interferences
To get accurate readings, use pH 7.01 and
pH 4.01 if you are going to measure acid
samples or pH 7.01 and pH 10.01 for alkaline
measurements.
For accurate calibration use two beakers for
each buffer solution, the first one for rinsing
the electrode, the second one for calibration.
In this way contamination of the buffers is
minimized.
