oxidizing or reducing power of the sample tested.
To correctly perform an ORP measurement, the
surface of the ORP electrode must be clean and
smooth.
When not in use, the tip of the electrode should
be kept moist and safe from any mechanical
stress which might cause damage to the glass/
platinum junction.
To get into the "mV" mode
(ORP or ISE measurements)
turn the instrument ON and
press the RANGE (HI 931402)
or the pH/mV (HI 931410)
key.
To measure the mV of a
solution simply submerge the
ORP or ISE electrode tip
(4 cm/1½") into the sample
to be tested. Allow a few
minutes for the readings to
stabilize.
The display will indicate the
absolute mV value (positive
or negative).
When values are less than ±400 mV, tenths of
mV are displayed; for values greater than ±400
mV, the decimal digit disappears. Note that the
change in scale (from 01. mV to 1 mV as
resolution) is automatic.
"---" for HI 931402 or "Err2" for
HI 931410 appear if the value
exceeds ±1999 mV (out of
range).
Note: ORP measurements are taken without
temperature compensation.
