The display will then show
the default temperature (25°C
in HI 931402 or 20°C in
HI 931410) or the last recorded
temperature reading (HI 931402
only). "°C" is blinking.
Note the temperature of the
sample using a ChecktempC
or a glass thermometer.
Use the UP or DOWN arrow
keys to manually adjust the
display reading to the value of
the reference thermometer.
If the temperature probe is connected to the
meter, the secondary or the temperature LCD
figure display the measured temperature read-
ing and the "°C" indicator does not blink.
Pressing the °C or °C keys will not alter
the temperature reading.
If measurements are taken in different samples
successively, it is recommended that the elec-
trode and the temperature probe are rinsed
thoroughly with deionized water or distilled
water (if not available, tap water may also be
used) and then blot dry between each mea-
surements.
ORP MEASUREMENTS
HI 931402 and HI 931410 have the capability to
take ORP measurements, using an optional
ORP electrode.
Hanna Instruments offers a variety of ORP
electrodes for this purpose (see page 47). Con-
tact your Dealer for more information.
Just as pH measurements allow the acidity or
the alkalinity of a substance to be expressed in
numbers, oxidation-reduction potential (redox)
measurements provide the quantification of the
